Novel coronavirus (COVID-19) impacts

Due to the Queensland Government's advanced easing of Stage 2 restrictions, from 1 June City of Gold Coast has removed the 'odds and evens' arrangements at Waste and Recycling Centres (WRCs).

All WRCs will continue to have limited capacity to ensure safe social distancing measures. Every second bay will remain closed. Visitors may experience delays.

  1. Residential customers are strongly advised to restrict their visits to WRCs for essential waste services only. This includes:
    • disposal of hazardous waste that may be no longer safe to store at home, e.g. car tyres, car batteries, paint, pool chemicals, bleach, gas bottles and herbicides
    • disposal of waste that could create a health concern, e.g. putrescible household waste.
  2. To minimise delays, residential green waste will ONLY be accepted at WRCs with 'Green waste drop and go' which includes Coomera, Molendinar, Merrimac and Reedy Creek.
  3. e-waste recycling is now being accepted
  4. Reedy Creek Recycle Market has now reopened. The Endeavour Shop at Southport has reopened Wednesday to Friday only at this stage.

We appreciate your patience and cooperation. For the latest update on the City's response and changes to services, visit cityofgoldcoast.com.au/covid19
