Novel coronavirus (COVID-19) impacts

The health and wellbeing of the Gold Coast community, our customers and City employees is our first priority.

The City is receiving advice from the Federal Government and Queensland Health on a daily basis to inform our response to the Novel coronavirus (COVID-19) situation in the city.

Reduced capacity at waste and recycling centres

Our Waste and Recycling Centres remain open at this stage, but please only visit if absolutely necessary as we are operating at 50 per cent capacity.

We have increased social distancing measures and only every second customer parking bay is available. This will increase waiting times.

In order to continue accepting general waste at Mudgeeraba Waste and Recycling Centre (WRC) and to reduce queues and delays, green waste customers are asked to use the green waste pads at Reedy Creek WRC or  Merrimac WRC.

We apologies for the inconvenience to the community and thank you for your patience during this time.

We ask everyone to follow advice to stay home unless it’s for daily exercise in your neighbourhood, essential shopping and medical appointments.
