Novel coronavirus (COVID-19) update

Every second bay at our Waste and Recycling Centres (WRCs) remain closed. This is to ensure safe social distancing measures. Visitors may experience delays.
Residential green waste will ONLY be accepted at WRCs with 'Green waste drop and go' which includes Coomera, Molendinar, Merrimac and Reedy Creek.
e-waste is only accepted at Helensvale, Molendinar, Merrimac and Reedy Creek WRCs.
Reedy Creek Recycle Market and The Endeavour Shop at Southport reopened in June.

The City’s waste management facilities experience peak demand between 10am and 2pm. Avoid delays by timing your visit outside these times.

Accepted items

The Springbrook Waste and Recycling Centre accepts general waste and recycles the following items:

Car batteries (lead acid)
Cardboard
Comingled recyclables (yellow top bins) - aluminium cans, paper, plastic and glass bottles
Concrete (small domestic loads only)
Emergency Position Indicating Radio Beacons (EPIRB)
Gas bottles - empty (up to 9 kilograms)
Scrap metal
Soil and clean fill (road base and clay base only - small domestic loads only)

The Centre does not accept commercial or work waste. Commercial waste is accepted at the waste and recycling centres at Stapylton (all), Reedy Creek (all) and Molendinar (commercial green waste only).
