Novel coronavirus (COVID-19) update

30 July 2020

  1. Every second bay at our Waste and Recycling Centres (WRCs) remain closed. This is to ensure safe social distancing measures. Visitors may experience delays.
  2. Residential green waste will ONLY be accepted at WRCs with 'Green waste drop and go' which includes Coomera, Molendinar, Merrimac and Reedy Creek.
  3. e-waste is only accepted at Helensvale, Molendinar, Merrimac and Reedy Creek WRCs.
  4. Reedy Creek Recycle Market and The Endeavour Shop at Southport reopened in June.

The Stapylton Commercial and Domestic Waste and Recycling Centre accepts general waste and recycles the following items:

  • asbestos*
  • asphalt
  • car batteries (lead acid)
  • car bodies
  • cardboard
  • charity donation bins
  • clean fill (commercial and large loads)+
  • comingled recyclables (yellow top bins) - aluminium cans, paper, plastic and glass bottles
  • commercial waste*
  • commercial green waste*
  • concrete (commercial and large loads)*+
  • dead animals
  • drumMUSTER - clean chemical containers+
  • Emergency Position Indicating Radio Beacons (EPIRB)
  • gas bottles - empty (up to 9 kilograms)
  • landfill
  • motor oil
  • scrap metal
  • soil and clean fill (road base and clay base only - small domestic loads only)
  • tyres*
  • weighbridge - registration (available Monday to Friday)
  • whitegoods (degassing available).

The Resource Recovery Centre for domestic recyclables is located at the entrance. Fees may apply.
