Highland Park - Armstrong Way - retaining wall upgrade

Commencing: April 2019
Completion: September 2019
Total project cost: $1,090,000

Project information

Upgrade works are underway on the Armstrong Way retaining wall, Highland Park.

Construction details

  • remove existing boulder retaining wall
  • construct concrete retaining wall
  • reinstate road pavement
  • reinstate guardrail
  • install pedestrian barrier fence.

Considerable efforts are being made to minimise disruptions. However, local residents may notice construction noise and dust at times. Traffic will also need to be reduced to one lane and at times short road closures will be required. Traffic management will be in place and access will be maintained for pedestrians and residents.

Community benefits

  • improve safety of existing retaining wall
  • improved safety to adjacent private property
  • reduce ongoing maintenance.
