Jacaranda Ave, Hollywell - Stage 2 - Road Reconstruction

Commencing: September 2020
Completion: January 2021
Cost: $1.3 million

Project information

We will be reconstructing Jacaranda Avenue, Hollywell to improve the overall condition of the road surface and reduce the need for regular maintenance.

The works will include the reconstruction of kerb and channel, asphalting and an upgrade to the existing drainage system, including footpath reconstruction.

Construction impacts

  • Temporary half road closure will be in place for drainage works along Jacaranda Avenue / Salvia Street for 4-6 weeks. During this period motorists will be detoured around the site via Bayview Street. After the initial 4-6-week period the remainder of the works will be completed under stop/go traffic control (two lanes will reopen overnight).
  • We will endeavour to maintain access to properties at all times. However, there will be periods when residents will not be able to access their properties when certain activities are being undertaken e.g. concrete pours to driveways, pipe culverts being laid across driveways. Our construction team will liaise with residents in regard to access.
  • While the new footpath is being constructed the existing footpath along Jacaranda Avenue will be temporarily closed and pedestrian detours will be provided.
  • Traffic disruptions and delays will be experienced by motorists. Traffic management will be in place.
  • On-street car parking along Jacaranda Avenue will be restricted while construction takes place.
  • Typical construction related disruptions including noise, vibrations, and dust can be expected throughout the duration of construction.

Benefits to the community

  • Improved road safety and amenity.
  • Improved drainage network.
  • Improved on street parking.
  • Decrease in the amount of maintenance works required along Jacaranda Avenue, Hollywell.

Please slow down around roadworks and take extra care in the area.
