Kirra Pavillion upgrades

Kirra Pavilion is a City of Gold Coast facility located on Marine Parade in Coolangatta.

Project information

We will be upgrading the Kirra Pavilion by:

  • replacing the entire roof and front awning
  • installing a stormwater line alongside the Oceanway path
  • installing upper level windows to the Surf Life Saving Club
  • installing bi-fold doors to the beachside southern tenancy
  • removing asbestos from the roof cavity in all tenancies
  • providing a new accessibility ramp and external concrete works.

We will work with existing and new tenants to retain the heritage values of the pavilion, and minimise temporary impacts to users of the facility.

Upgrades are set to commence in September 2020 and completion is anticipated in March 2021. Delays may occur due to COVID-19 restrictions and/or inclement weather.

Check back here for project updates over the coming months.

Impacts

There will be minimal impacts to current tenants, users and community. At times there may be a need for temporary closures to facility operations. The existing footpath will be managed with safety diversions to allow for the safe upgrade of the venue, access for machinery and deliveries on site.
