Library holiday opening hours

Our libraries will be operating on reduced hours throughout the holiday period.

*Ormeau Community Lounge and Library will open 9am – 1pm on these days.

The Mobile Library will not be operating from Monday 23 December to Friday 3 January.

Our regular programming will be taking a break from Monday 16 December to Sunday 5 January.

Customer Service Centre holiday opening hours

Our Customer Service Centres at Elanora Library and Broadbeach Library will remain open during the festive season, except for public holidays and weekends.

For ideas, explore our shelves of recommended reads picked by our librarians.

To be in with a chance to win, just borrow any eBooks, eAudiobooks or eMagazines using the Libby app or Overdrive website. The customer with the 1 millionth loan for the last 12 months will be contacted to claim their $100 gift card. It’s that easy!

Password update required

From Friday 25 October all Gold Coast Library members will need to change their 4-digit PIN to an alphanumeric password to access their library account and online resources.

Updating your password is quick and easy — just follow one of the below options:

  1. Visit our new library catalogue, click Log In and then Forgot my password to start the password reset process.
  2. If you would like assistance with changing your password, our team are happy to help. Just visit your local library or call our Customer Care team at 07 5667 5940 available from 8:30am to 5pm, Monday to Friday.

MyLibrary app

As part of our online system update we have retired our MyLibrary app. Keep an eye on this page to stay informed about the release of our new Gold Coast Libraries app. This will be available on Android and iPhone (iOS version 16 or later).
