Tap & Go now available

Paying for printing just got easier! We're excited to introduce Tap & Go stations at our 11 library locations with printing services.

With this new feature, you can now top up your printing account quickly and securely using your debit or credit card. Our easy-to-use kiosks are designed to make your experience smoother and faster. Try it out next time you visit!

Printing & copying

Our printing service is the simple, safe and secure way to print from anywhere, even your own device.

It's a completely cashless self-managed print service offering the flexibility to send documents to a library printer, including from home. As a library member, you can use Print & Pay straight away by using your membership number and password.

To access and manage your printing

1. go to the Pharos Print Center, or download the Pharos Print app from your app store
2. enter the library server details: Print App Server: libprint.goldcoast.qld.gov.au and Print App Port 443
3. then 'Connect' to log in.  

You can pay by credit card or debit card using our in-library Tap & Go kiosk, or you can pay online using Pharos Print Center, 

How do I top up / add money to my Pharos account?

• Top up your account in My Print Center.
• You can pay by a range of electronic payment methods: Credit Card, Debit Card, or PayPal account, and receive a tax receipt.
• The minimum top us is $2 and the maximum you can load at a time is $20. To request a refund of unused funds, please complete our refund request form.
• You cannot transfer money from one account to another. If you replace your library member card, please see library staff who can attach your Pharos balance to your new card.

How do I change my Pharos password?

If you've forgotten your password, you can reset it online, or ask for assistance from our library team.

Scanning is free of charge. You can scan documents using a USB storage device or your email address.

Please ask us if you need any help to print, copy or scan at your library.

Libraries are great spaces for work or study. You can access Public PCs, printing and scanning services, free Wi-Fi and desks to use for a few hours, or the whole day.

Libraries are public spaces so they can get noisy at certain times of the day. Make sure to bring headphones or ear plugs if you need them.

PC access

Customers can use a library PC, subject to availability. You'll need your membership number and password to log on. Our Public PCs include Microsoft Office, internet access, and a vast range of online library resources. We do not supply headphones so please bring your own if you intend to enjoy music or videos.

Library members can book PCs up to a week in advance if you plan to visit at a busy time – ask at your library. If you're not a member, you may be able to use a PC on a walk-in basis if available. Identification will be required for this.

Wi-Fi in libraries

Free Wi-Fi is available in all our libraries, including the Mobile Library. To access our Wi-Fi, simply connect to the network called ‘#Surf Network – Free’.

Hidden disabilities

We are a proud member of the Hidden Disabilities sunflower global network. The network aims to create a more inclusive and welcoming world for people with disabilities such as dementia, vision and hearing impairment and chronic illnesses.

If you have a non-visible disability and would like to be a part of the sunflower community by wearing a lanyard, badge or wristband, you can also ask our friendly staff for your sunflower item at your local library.

Assistive equipment

We have a range of assistive equipment and technology to help you to access our resources more easily. Ask our friendly staff for details. The assistive equipment and technology offered at our libraries includes:

• Adaptive workstations – height-adjustable desks, with large key keyboards (see below). Available at Helensvale, Nerang, and Southport libraries.
• Large key keyboards – keyboards with extra-large and visible keys designed for users who need them. You can also book our PCs with large keyboards.
• Handheld magnifiers – use one of our handheld magnifiers with inbuilt LED light, improving reading size and clarity. They're also perfect if you've left your glasses at home.
• Audio loop – available at all library information desks, supporting people with hearing aids to access clearer and louder sound without distracting background noise. Let staff know if you require an audio loop at a library event.
• Recharge points – for mobility scooters and wheelchairs. Available at Broadbeach, Burleigh Heads, Elanora, Helensvale, Nerang and Southport libraries.

Gold Coast Libraries welcomes local not-for-profit community and social groups to book library meeting spaces to connect, learn and grow.

Our library meeting rooms are primarily used for library and Council programs. When not in use for these purposes, they are available free of charge to community groups and small businesses based on the Gold Coast.

Please note: libraries are public spaces and are not suitable for private functions or for religious or political activities.

Recurring bookings may be available weekly, fortnightly, or monthly for up to 12 months. For more information download the library meeting space booking form(PDF, 579KB).
