Broadbeach Library

About

Broadbeach Library at night

Broadbeach Library offers contemporary spaces and a range of library services, resources and activities.

You can also pay your rates here and enquire about other City services (8:30am – 5pm Monday to Friday).

The library is just a few minutes walk from the heart of Broadbeach, opposite Pacific Fair shopping centre. It's one of the city's most environmentally-sustainable buildings, designed to reduce use of water, electricity and air conditioning.

The current building opened in 2008. The first public library in the area – Canal Estates Library – opened in 1974. The library relocated to its present site in 1977. It was renamed twice: as Mermaid Waters Library in 1983, and then Broadbeach Library in 2008. Find out more about the history of our libraries on our Gold Coast Stories website.
