Coolangatta Library overlooks the beach on the first floor of The Strand shopping centre, which also offers shopping, dining and a cinema. A public library has been part of Coolangatta life since 1961.
The library was first located in the Coolangatta Council Chambers on Griffith Street, then later moved to Warner Street, and then to the beachfront in 1989 as part of the new mall. The library moved from the third floor to its current location in 2013. Find out more about the history of our libraries on our Gold Coast Stories website.
Coolangatta Library is located in The Strand shopping centre, next to the City's customer service centre and opposite the surf club. Entry is on the corner of Marine Parade and Dutton Street, or through the shopping centre.
The Strand offers free parking for up to three hours on weekdays and two hours on weekends. There is also street parking nearby.
During your visit, please follow directional signage, maintain good hand and respiratory hygiene and practice social distancing. Please stay at home if you're unwell.
