Together in conversation, these artists will offer an honest and expansive look at what it means to create, sustain and grow an artistic practice in the Gold Coast’s cultural ecosystem.

George Carpenter is a freelance record producer, engineer and mixer. His work has amassed millions of streams worldwide and received numerous awards from the QMA’s and the GCMA’s as well as himself being a finalist in this year’s MPEG awards for Engineer of the Year. George is particularly passionate about the local Gold Coast music scene and is a strong advocate for up and coming producers and artists looking to make a career in music.
Kate Baggerson
Kate Baggerson is a Gold Coast-based creative director, arts leader and founder of Everybody NOW!, an award-winning organisation that creates joyful community arts projects across Australia. Kate is passionate about bringing people together through creativity, connection and shared experiences. With more than 20 years of experience in the arts, Kate champions the role of artists and creativity in building stronger, more connected communities.
Loki Liddle
Loki Liddle is a proud Jabirr Jabirr poet and musician. He is the lead singer and songwriter of Gold Coast rock band Selve who recently made history recording their album ‘Breaking Into Heaven’ at Abbey Road Studios in London. Damn Good Television is Loki’s first published work and was the outcome of a six month poetry residency through HOTA’s Artkeeper program in 2024.
Merinda Davies
Merinda Davies is an artist, performer and designer, investigating how we might thrive rather than merely survive within the realities of ecological collapse. At the core of her practice is a commitment to sensory and sensual intelligence as a foundation for relationality, between humans, other-than-human beings, and the landscapes we co-inhabit. She creates installations, videos and performances that ask how we might reorient ourselves within the present through speculating on future worlds.
Sarah Huston
Sarah Huston is an actor, stunt performer, filmmaker, artist, and founder of the women’s skateboarding media platform, Yeah Girl. As an actor and stunt performer, Sarah has worked on a range of Australian and international productions. Her short film The Brutal Alchemy of Water, which she wrote, produced and starred in, premiered at Flickerfest International Short Film Festival in 2026.
