Gold Coast Libraries update

Updated: 20 May 2020

City of Gold Coast has a clear plan for a staged reopening of services and facilities, including Libraries, ensuring we meet all social distancing requirements and hygiene protocols. While our libraries remain closed to the general public for now, we’re pleased to announce that a click and collect service is coming!

Return your books! Our 24-hour return chutes are currently open at Helensvale, Southport and Elanora – thanks to all who have returned their books so far, please keep them coming in. A reminder though that all loans for physical items have been extended to 31 July.

Pick up your holds! We’ll be contacting customers who have existing holds, and they’ll be able to pick up their items from Saturday 13 June at specified locations, dates and times.

Click and collect! From Saturday 11 July library customers will be invited to place new holds on items and will be contacted to pick up their items at specified times, dates and locations.

In the meantime, while our libraries remain closed, we are still here to help and you can contact us Monday to Friday from 8.30am to 5pm.

We will continue to update you over the coming weeks so if you haven't already, follow us on Facebook and Instagram for the latest updates, as well as reading inspiration, virtual events, and for more about ways in which you can continue to connect with us from home!

488 Rules For Life: The thankless art of being correct

Book cover of the Wonderful World of Maths

488 Rules for Life is not a self-help book, because it's not you who needs help, it's other people. What started as a joke on Kitty Flanagan's popular segment on ABC TV's The Weekly, is now a quintessential reference book with the power to change society. (Or at least make it a bit less irritating).
