Business Support Package 2020
The City recognises the impact of COVID-19 on residents, businesses and the wider community. In response and as part of the 2020-21 Budget, we have developed a $26.9 million support package for community and business to offer assistance through this challenging time. Public health and food safety advice
Our Environmental Health Officers will be available to assist and support you in any COVID-19 compliance related enquiries relating to your food business and/or dining area, beauty therapy or nail salon business, higher risk personal appearance service (such as tattooing and body piercing), hairdressing salon or barber shop, public swimming pool, spa; or accommodation services.
Our business updates will help you understand the current requirements and identify vital public health, food safety and infection control measures that should be applied prior to reopening your business.
Free public Wi-Fi
A free Wi-Fi service is available to business customers within the network coverage areas of Southport, Surfers Paradise, Chevron Island, Broadbeach, Miami and Coolangatta; providing access to 4GB of data, at speeds close to 30Mbs, via a secure network connection. Destination Gold Coast will forgo membership fees for the upcoming 2021 financial year. They plan to offer free membership to any tourism related businesses in the 2021 financial year.
