The Gold Coast health and medical sector is the Gold Coast’s largest employing sector, with more than 38,000 skilled workers.
City of Gold Coast, State Government, Gold Coast Health and Griffith University collectively invested more than $5 billion into the Gold Coast Health and Knowledge Precinct to accelerate the creation of jobs in the health and medical sector and attract a talented workforce.
The precinct enables collaboration between allied health facilities and research institutions to incubate a knowledge-based health industry. Major advancements are already being made in biotechnology, medical technologies such as 3D printing and prototyping as well as preventative and integrated health.
Gold Coast based health and medical service providers, and manufacturers of health and wellness products have opportunities to access new trade and export opportunities through City of Gold Coast’s International Trade and Investment Program.
City of Gold Coast facilitates inbound and outbound trade missions to connect local businesses with suppliers, buyers and distributors to support the growth of their business and the development the city’s health manufacturing industry.
