The theme for this year’s Annual Report is ‘Protecting our community. Supporting our economy.' and reflects a challenging year for the Gold Coast.
The city is well positioned for recovery from COVID-19 and Council is committed to maintaining the lifestyle opportunities that make our city more resilient and make our residents proud to call the Gold Coast home.
The Annual Report provides an overview of the Council of the City of Gold Coast (Council) activities during the 2019-20 financial year. It also identifies progress towards achieving Our City Vision ‘Inspired by lifestyle. Driven by opportunity’ and Council’s Corporate Plan, Gold Coast 2022. It includes details on Council’s financial performance as at 30 June 2020 and governance and statutory information.
This report also provides the disclosure requirements relating to the Local Government Act 2009 (the Act) and the Local Government Regulation 2012 (the Regulation).

Presents the City Vision and provides reports from the Mayor and Chief Executive Officer. It also provides an overview of the rates and performance in the 2019-20 financial year.

Provides a profile of the Gold Coast, Council of the City of Gold Coast, Divisional Councillors and Council services.
Chapter 3 Our achievements
Presents Council’s major achievements under the three themes of the Gold Coast 2022: Place, Prosperity and People and highlights major events and awards.
Chapter 4 Democratic governance
Provides Council’s democratic governance arrangements; Councillor attendance and remuneration and support provided to community organisations and business.
Chapter 5 Corporate governance
Provides Council’s corporate governance arrangements; organisational structure; performance against the City Operational Plan and Corporate Plan and the performance of Council’s commercialised business units.
Chapter 6 Finance
Provides the Community Financial Report and audited Financial Statements of Council for the year ended 30 June 2020.
Chapter 7 Appendices
Provides details of grants to community organisations, indexes and other supporting information.
