COVID-19 Community Support Grants

In response to the global pandemic declared by the World Health Organisation and the Public Health Emergency declared by the Queensland Government, the City of Gold Coast is providing grants to support community organisations in their endeavours to respond and recover from the impacts of COVID-19.

COVID-19 Community Organisation Hardship Grants - closed

This grants program is now closed. More information can be found below.

The COVID-19 Community Organisation Hardship Grants Program aims to provide financial assistance to eligible community organisations that provide support services to vulnerable residents impacted by COVID-19. Groups may be either experiencing financial hardship as a result of COVID-19 or seeking to establish alternate service delivery models for business continuity.

Applicants must:

  • be an incorporated community organisation providing essential services to vulnerable residents
  • operate within the City of Gold Coast
  • have an adequate level of public liability insurance, and
  • have no outstanding acquittals or debts owing to City of Gold Coast.

Funding available

This is a rolling program with applications from $500 to $5000 accepted from 22 June 2020 until 5pm on 31 July 2020. Acquittal is required for all grants.

COVID-19 Community Organisation Recovery Grants (including sporting clubs) - closed

This grants program is now closed. More information can be found below.

The COVID-19 Community Organisation Recovery Grants Program aims to provide financial assistance to eligible community and sporting clubs to support COVID-19 financial recovery and re-establishment activities.

Applicants must:

  • be an incorporated not-for-profit community organisation
  • operate within the City of Gold Coast
  • have an adequate level of public liability insurance, and
  • have no outstanding acquittals or debts owing to City of Gold Coast.

Funding available

Community organisations:

  • Applications from $1000 to $5000 were accepted from 1 July 2020 until 5pm on 31 July 2020. Acquittal is required for all grants.

Sporting clubs:

  • Applications for $2000 for maintenance on leased Council buildings or clean up days were accepted from 1 July 2020 until 5pm on 31 July 2020. Acquittal is required for all grants.
