A place where culture is everyday.
A striking cultural destination is under development on Australia’s Gold Coast. HOTA, Home of the Arts will be the new heart for arts, culture and creative enterprise in the city. Constructed on 16.9 hectares it is within walking distance of Surfers Paradise.
It includes state-of-the-art visual and performing arts facilities and a programmed outdoor artscape. When completed, HOTA will support the city’s already thriving cultural evolution.
The concept for our new cultural centre was the result of an international design competition that took place in 2013. The winning design was awarded to ARM Architecture + Topotek1.
The design team worked closely with the City’s project team throughout 2014 to fine-tune the site-wide master plan for HOTA.
The master plan retains all the features of the competition-winning design. The design included an art hotel, creative industries, cafes and other facilities. HOTA will come alive with 24-hour activity, and a world-class artistic and cultural program.
The $37.5 million outdoor stage and concert lawn was completed in December 2017. This included an outdoor stage and concert lawn for audiences of up to 5000. It can cater for concerts, events and festivals and is an important civic reception venue.
