Gold Coast Oceanway - Surfers Paradise

Commencing: July 2019
Completion: December 2019
Cost: $1.77 million

Project information

We’re upgrading the popular Surfers Paradise oceanway to provide a wider, safer and more attractive path between Ocean Avenue and View Avenue.

The new five metre wide path will create a continuous network of quality facilities along the coastal cycle and pedestrian route from Surfers Paradise to Main Beach, complementing the recently upgraded paths on the southern side of View Avenue and northern side of Ocean Avenue.

Construction details

Public impact

To minimise impacts, the work will be delivered in sections and work will take place outside of peak periods where possible. Temporary lane closures will be required and we’ll have pedestrian and traffic management in place. Path access will be maintained via detours. Works will be delivered during standard business hours. During construction there will be temporary traffic delays, noise and dust at times. We encourage all path, beach and road users to take extra care when workers are in the area and observe traffic signs and speed restrictions. We will do our best to minimise disruptions, and we thank you in advance for your patience.

Benefits for the community

This project is part of our ongoing investment to extend our active transport network and create a better connected Gold Coast and will deliver:
