Hollywell Road safety improvements

Project description

The City of Gold Coast is currently investigating road safety improvements along the southern section of Hollywell Road, Biggera Waters, between Brisbane Road and the Biggera Creek bridge.

These improvements are due to:

The project will focus on intersection and road related safety improvements for Hollywell Road with only minor impacts to traffic movements and congestion. These improvements include:

Community engagement

The community engagement phase for the Hollywell Road safety improvements project has now closed. Thank you to everyone that took the time to provide feedback at our information sessions.

The feedback and comments received from the community helped to inform our final selection for the project.

Priority Controlled intersection at Parr Street

Pros:

  • lower cost
  • minimal impact to bus stops
  • installation of a pedestrian refuge
  • no land acquisition required
  • reduced construction time.

Cons:

  • will restrict right-turn movements out of Parr Street.

Proposed construction for this project is in the 2019-20 and 2020-21 financial years (subject to funding).
