Works to improve safety at the Miami State High School are underway.
We’re constructing a new carpark and set-down area along the western side of the lower sports field. The new carpark will improve traffic flow and access for cars and school buses, and safety for the school community.
The Queensland Government’s Transport Infrastructure Development Scheme (TIDS) program has approved 50/50 funding for the project.
The project includes:
Works will take place during standard working hours, Monday to Friday. During construction there will be temporary pathway detours, noise and dust at times. These works will take place off-road within the school boundary and will not impact traffic on the Gold Coast Highway.
A significant effort was made to minimise the environmental impact including working around all significant trees and undertaking tree replanting to compensate for the trees removed. The Gold Coast Organic Farmers Market (held on Sundays at the school) will be relocated during the works.
Please take extra care in the project area and observe traffic signs and speed restrictions. We will do our best to minimise disruptions. Thank you in advance for your patience.
