Novel coronavirus (COVID-19) impacts

The health and wellbeing of the Gold Coast community, our customers and City employees is our first priority.

Beaches and lifeguard services

With the recent announcements from the Queensland Government, there will be a carefully staged approach to easing of restrictions.

Beachside parking has reopened.

Gold Coast beaches are open for exercise and recreational purposes.

Flags have been removed from all beaches, however City lifeguards will remain on beaches to respond to any safety issues.

City lifeguard services will be reassessed on 18 May.

Please continue to follow current social distancing advice from the Queensland Government.

For the latest update on the City's response and changes to services, visit cityofgoldcoast.com.au/covid19.

We love our beaches! Whether it’s fishing at Main Beach, surfing with the pros at Snapper Rocks, or watching the sunrise at Burleigh, everyone can enjoy a beach experience on the Gold Coast.
