Project information

Works were undertaken to install a new signalised pedestrian crossing on Somerset Drive, Mudgeeraba, between Gemvale Road and Leviathan Drive. We have also made improvements to footpaths to improve access for the whole community, particularly people with disabilities.

The project was designed to improve pedestrian safety and active travel connections in the area.

Benefits to the community

  • improved footpaths and road crossings for pedestrians
  • safer road crossing for school students
  • safer pedestrian access to and from ‘The Mill’ shopping centre.

This project is part of our ongoing program to improve road safety and supports the Gold Coast City Transport Strategy 2031.
