Paradise Point – intersection upgrade Paradise Parade and Falkinder Avenue

Commencing: March 2021
Completion: June 2021 (weather permitting)
Estimated cost:  $636,781

The intersection of Paradise Parade and Falkinder Avenue has experienced nine reported crashes in the past ten years at, or in close proximity to, this intersection.

We are pleased to advise that a roundabout will be constructed at the intersection to reduce the likelihood of traffic incidents and improve safety for all road users.

Funding of this project is partly funded by the Australian Government’s Black Spot Program, which funds road upgrades in dangerous locations where crashes are occurring.

Construction details

The scope of works includes:

  • a new roundabout at the intersection
  • new shared path connecting existing bicycle lanes and footpaths
  • resurfacing of the existing intersection.

The intersection will remain open for the duration of works.  Motorists, pedestrians and people on bikes will notice some delays in travel times during construction.

You may notice some localised noise and dust while the area is an active work site.

Signage and traffic control will be on site. Please slow down and take extra care when travelling through.

Community benefits

Benefits of this project include:

  • a safer road environment for all road corridor users
  • reduced number and severity of crashes at the intersection
  • improved provisions and connectivity for active travellers
  • new kerb ramps wil be accessible for people with mobility or vision impairments and meet Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) regulations.
