

Pedestrian crossing improvements, Lae Drive and Oxley Drive roundabout, Runaway Bay

Project information
The City has completed works to improve road crossing access for pedestrians and cyclists at the Lae Drive and Oxley Drive roundabout at Runaway Bay. The upgrade will encourage active travel in the local area.
Construction details
Works include:
- cut outs in the median strips near the Oxley Drive and Lae Drive roundabout to assist pedestrians and cyclists to cross the road
- new pedestrian ramps and footpath connections that comply with the Disability Discrimination Act 1992 (DDA)
- street lighting upgraded to comply with current Australian Standards.
Access for residents and businesses was maintained during the works.
Work was undertaken during standard daytime hours of Monday to Friday between 6am and 6pm.
