Robina City Parklands project

City of Gold Coast is currently undertaking the detailed design phase of Robina City Parklands, a new 20 hectare park on Stadium Drive, Robina. A parkland redevelopment of this scale has not been undertaken by the City in several years and as such this project presents a significant opportunity to create a premier parkland for the Gold Coast community.

Benefits to the community

The project includes the major redevelopment of the park with the provision of a variety of facilities including:

  • large adventure play area, ball sports area, scooter and bike track and dog off leash area
  • café and amenities buildings with a Changing Places facility
  • large event space for community events, markets and concerts
  • internal road with ample car parking, extensive footpath network, park furniture, shade structures, shelters, lighting and associated infrastructure
  • existing fields utilised for sports training and events
  • feature landscape areas with raised garden beds, terraces, managed lawns and mass plantings including shade trees.

The first stage of construction will involve major earthworks and is expected to commence in June 2019. This stage of works will involve the delivery of fill material from the M1 upgrade at Varsity Lakes, along the M1 motorway, Laver Drive and Stadium Drive. After the major earthworks have been completed the construction of the parklands will commence.

Robina City Parklands is due to be open to the public in mid-2021.
