Surfers Paradise – Anabranch Bridges - railing renewal

Commencing: August 2019
Completion: February 2020

Project information

We’re pleased to advise we will be undertaking maintenance works to four bridges located on the Gold Coast Highway near MacIntosh Island in Surfers Paradise.

Construction details

The renewal works will include:

  • removal of the four existing bridge railings
  • installation of new bridge railings
  • concrete repairs on all eight concrete kerb units.

The project will be undertaken in two stages over a six month period. Both northbound bridge railings will be replaced between August 2019 and October 2019 (prior to the GC600). Both southbound bridge railings will be replaced between November 2019 and February 2020 (post GC600). Works will take place from Monday to Friday between 9am and 3pm.

Construction works will require short term lane closures on the bridges, however the bridge will remain open and accessible to motorists at all times during construction.

We are working to minimise disruption, however local residents and motorists may notice construction noise, dust and extra lighting. Please slow down and observe all signage during the works. Thank you for your patience.

These works are part of our ongoing maintenance and investment in our city assets.
