The Sustainability Symposium is an event for students, teachers, parents and any interested community members. It aims to strengthen sustainability education in schools and in the wider community.

The day event at the Symposium is aimed at school students and will run from 9am until 3pm with key note speakers, presentations and workshops throughout the day. 

The evening event is for teachers and any interested community members, and will run from 5.30pm until 9pm with a three-course, sustainably sourced meal (drinks are included).  

Keynote speakers for the day and evening include: Melati Wijsen from Bye Bye Plastic Bags, Kareem El-Ansary the UN Youth Rep Australia, Molly Steer from Straw No More and Holley Somerville- Knott from Tell Someone Who Cares. 

A free teacher professional development session will also take place from 1pm until 3pm, with OZHarvests Amelia Berner on the FEAST education program as well as a free workshop on irrigation from 8am until 11am, with morning tea provided by the City of Gold Coast for grounds staff from schools or any interested organisations.
