City of Gold Coast: built on creativity, transformed by imagination.

The Gold Coast's arts and creative community is leading a cultural revolution. Our city is being re-imagined. We are energetic, unexpected and distinctly Gold Coast.

Our commitment is to deliver the ambitious vision set in the City of Gold Coast's first Culture Strategy by 2023.

The Culture Strategy 2023 identifies three catalysts for change:

C1 - The Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games™

GC2018 delivered a once-in-a-generation opportunity for arts and cultural development for our city, leaving an outstanding cultural legacy.

C2 - Cultural Precinct - HOTA

Our new cultural precinct is the heart for arts, culture and creative enterprise on the Gold Coast. When completed, HOTA will support the city’s already thriving cultural evolution.

C3 - A new City approach to cultural development

Our dynamic Arts and Culture team is committed to delivering an exciting program of opportunities. We assist with:

  • business and skills development across a range of art forms
  • supporting an ecology of cultural organisations
  • investing in our arts and cultural workers through funding programs and in-kind support to ensure they have the opportunities they need to thrive.
