Free cycle workshops

Cycling is a healthy and fun alternative to driving a car. Whether it’s a quick trip to the shops, or a commute to work, jumping on your bike is social, low cost and reduces congestion.

Our free cycling workshops are facilitated by accredited instructors at different locations across the city. All workshops cover tips to make you a safer, more confident cyclist.

Bookings are required for all workshops and must be made at least two days prior.

Early bookings are encouraged due to high demand.

Visit our events calendar or Active Travel Program events page for details of all upcoming cycle workshops and to book online.

For all of our cycle workshops we recommend you:

  • take water to stay hydrated.
  • apply sunscreen and wear a hat.
  • wear appropriate shoes and clothes for cycling.
  • bring a helmet and bicycle that is safe to ride (check your tyre pressure and chain).
  • ensure the bicycle frame is the correct height for you – so you can sit on the seat with your feet touching the ground.
