Labrador fishing platforms

Marine Parade Labrador

There are a series of fishing platforms located along the Marine Parade esplanade at Labrador, between the Grand Hotel and Whiting Street. They each have seating and a blue shade sail with a nautical theme. This esplanade is directly across from the Gold Coast Seaway and is a popular spot for anglers targeting species that are attracted to the Seaway area.

Burrows Street, Biggera Creek Labrador

A concrete platform has been used at this location with a stainless steel railing. The platform is located near the western end of Burrows Street and faces north towards Biggera Creek. The platform is directly opposite the Biggera Waters shopping centre.

Good catches

  • Luderick (cooler months)
  • Bream
  • Whiting (warm months)
  • Flathead (warm months)
  • Squid (cooler months)

Best tides

Last of the run out and during the run in.

A light eight foot to 10 foot, six inch estuary type outfit matched with two kilogram to five kilogram line.

Yabbies, herrings, wrigglers, bloodworms and pieces of mullet fillet and bait.

You can all help protect our waterways and fish stocks, by doing a few simple things:

  1. Dispose of all rubbish, bait bags and tangled fishing lines thoughtfully
  2. Practise catch and release, or only keep the fish that you need
  3. Observe bag limits
