Novel coronavirus (COVID-19) update

Palm Beach Aquatic Centre will commence a staged reopening with restricted services from Monday 22 June 2020.

This staged reopening is complex and planned to ensure the safety of members, guests, athletes, regular user groups, City employees and the wider Gold Coast community.

The way we do things will be different and some of our services will be temporarily unavailable and reintroduced as part of the continued easing of restrictions.

We ask for your continued patience while we work with the relevant authorities to get the local community back in and enjoying our centres safely and as soon as possible.

As part of the COVID-Safe management plan, you will be required to provide contact information when you arrive at the centre.

We request that you come to the centre prepared to swim or work out and leave immediately after, as no change or shower facilities will be available. While at the centre you must follow public health directives around social distancing and hygiene and follow the instructions of our team at all times.

Revised trading hours:

  • Monday to Thursday - 5am to 7pm
  • Friday - 5am to 6pm
  • Saturday - 8am to 3pm
  • Sunday - 8am to 2pm

Services available

  • All pools (except hydrotherapy pool) are open under strict restrictions of one person per ten square metres.
  • Hydrotherapy pool by booking only under strict restrictions of 8 people with no more than 4 in the water at any one time.
  • The fitness centre (gymnasium and two training rooms) under strict restrictions of one person per seven square metres.
  • Swim squad under restricted numbers and lanes. Contact - BE Swim Coaching
  • Toilets
  • The kiosk (drinks and snacks)

Services not available

  • Learn to swim program
  • Group fitness programs and classes including aqua aerobics and deep water running
  • Crèche
  • Squash
  • Active and healthy program activities
  • Showers and change rooms

Visits to the centre will be on a casual basis only until all our products and services are available. All memberships, enrolments and multi-visit passes remain on suspension as of 23 March 2020 until further notice.

Fees and charges

During this stage of COVID-19 restrictions, the following casual entry rates apply from Monday 22 June 2020 until full centre services resume 20 July 2020:

Existing multi-visit pool passes will be accepted and can be purchased from centre reception.

Existing pool only memberships will not be accepted and will remain on suspension until full centre services resume from 20 July 2020.

New pool memberships are not able to be purchased until full centre services resume from 20 July 2020.

Gym Fee
Casual visit flat rate $6.30

Existing fitness centre and group fitness memberships and multi-visit passes not be accepted and will remain on suspension until full centre services resume from 20 July 2020.

New fitness centre and group fitness memberships and multi-visit passes are not able to be purchased until full centre services resume from 20 July 2020.
