Pedestrian safety

Pedestrians are especially vulnerable to injury in the event of a crash because they have no protection if they are involved in incidents with vehicles. Alcohol is a factor in 45 per cent of pedestrian crashes.

The Gold Coast has a vibrant nightlife and features a range of entertainment options for a great night out with friends or family. Pedestrians are involved in one out of 10 vehicle incidents, with half of serious crashes involving a pedestrian in Surfers Paradise occurring between 8pm and 6am.
