Performing arts
City of Gold Coast is dedicated to supporting the work and development of its local performing artists. Through accelerated sector development, key areas for support have been identified in circus, physical theatre and dance.
The key cultural facility for the city is HOTA, Home of the Arts (formerly The Arts Centre Gold Coast). The complex houses the Arts Theatre, Gold Coast City Gallery, two cinemas and The Space; a small venue focused on supporting local and small productions. The Gold Coast Arts Centre will be the home of the new Gold Coast Cultural Precinct.
A key initiative supported by the City is The Farm:

The Farm is the Gold Coast's first fully professional performing arts company. Created by Gavin Webber and co-created by Grayson Millwood, both with extensive national and international experience, the Farm is contemporary dance theatre at its best. Currently creating some of the most leading edge, interesting and critically-acclaimed dance theatre works in Australia. The farm is active, physical, contemporary, innovative and international.
