Queensland Seniors Month is celebrated from 1 to 31 October each year.
During Seniors Month we celebrate the valuable contributions that seniors make to our city and we encourage community connections and participation.
Significant days include the United Nations International Day of Older Persons on 1st October and National Grandparents Day on last Sunday in October.
During this month-long celebration we encourage everyone to connect through free or low-cost activities offered by local groups and organisations across the city.
It's the perfect time to enjoy what our city has to offer, meet people and try something new.
Throughout Seniors Month, various community groups and organisations host inclusive events and activities to promote positive attitudes towards older people and enhance community connection. To find an event, visit – What’s on Gold Coast.
Funding for Seniors Month activations is provided in accordance with our Community Grants Policy. Community groups are asked to review the Policy before applying for funding to ensure they meet eligibility and requirements. For more information visit our Community grants page.
