Alberton Cemetery is located on 2 hectares. The land was set aside in 1872. The site is owned and operated by the City of Gold Coast.
A German migrant with the surname of Voigt was buried in 1886. Earlier burials took place in the cemetery when a group of German migrant families settled in the area. The cemetery also contains a number of unknown locations of burials. In 2003, a memorial was erected in the cemetery to commemorate names of the unknown burials.
Our Cemeteries Administration team can help with enquiries about burial records – see the 'Contact' section for details.
